We offer two main types of treatments:

1. Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal decoctions are the most important and common dose form in TCM. Different herbs according to the specific prescription are boiled in water in a specialized ceramic kettle to extract the medicinal constituents into the water to form the decoction that is taken orally.

You may prepare the herbal decoctions by yourself if you have the right equipment but we also provide the service of preparing the decoctions for you on a daily basis. Depending on your health condition, we may also prescribe Chinese herbal medicine in the forms of superfine powder and water-honeyed pills, which are easier to take orally and more convenient.

Our experienced Chinese medicine practitioners and herbal pharmacists routinely review the qualities of all herbs and excipients we source. To ensure our Chinese herbal medicines meet and exceed the standards of Hong Kong’s Department of Health, herbs are regularly sent to the Hong Kong Standards Testing Center to test for microorganisms, pesticide residues, heavy metals as well as toxic elements.

2. Acupuncture and Moxibustion

In TCM, smooth and unobstructed qi (energy) circulation throughout designated channels, or meridians, in the body is crucial for health cultivation. Illnesses arise when this flow of qi is disrupted. Acupuncture is a TCM treatment that involves inserting very thin and sterile needles through the skin at specific acupuncture points along the meridians in the body. Moxibustion is often used in combination with acupuncture that involves the burning of Chinese medicinal herbs above the skin to apply heat to specific acupuncture points on the body.

Both acupuncture and moxibustion are safe and effective for people of all ages. Some may experience tingling or numbness during the treatments as a result of “de qi,” or qi travelling the meridians, which is perfectly normal. Acupuncture and moxibustion treat diseases by correcting and regulating qi flow through the meridian system and coordinating Zangfu.
